Weston & Sampson to perform ongoing Stormwater Drainage Sampling throughout Millbury

water drop in hands

The Town’s engineering consultant, Weston & Sampson, and their subconsultant, Peer Consultants, will be sampling outfalls, drain manholes, and catch basins during dry and wet weather periods from April 1st through June 30th (subject to extension).  The work will be performed Monday through Friday, between 7:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m.

The Town is currently subject to a permit issued by the Environmental Protection Agency, which regulates stormwater discharges from the Town’s municipal storm drain system. The purpose of the Permit is to reduce stormwater pollution and improve water quality in our water resources – our lakes, rivers, brooks, streams, ponds, and wetlands. The permit requires the Town to inspect and sample the Town’s drainage structures, which discharge to these receiving waters.

For more information see the attached public notice from Weston & Sampson or visit the Public Works page regarding MS4 (Stormwater).

Please note: The crew performing the work will be in a Weston & Sampson F150 truck with the Plate# P47-808.
